How It All Began

The Beantown Sound story began in 1999, when a 16 year old Samuel Lurie became “star-struck” at the sight of another DJ performing at a Summer Camp Dance. Fascinated by this DJ, Samuel immediately asked for a job as a DJ assistant. Samuel helped make parties exciting while working as an assistant for other older, more experienced DJ’s. All the while, carefully studying different events, practicing the art of beat-mixing, and learning the MC’s tricks of the trade. Slowly but surely he began to break free from working for others, and soon had the foundations of well respected entertainer, and started his own company, The Beantown Sound.

Why The Beantown Sound?

Now nearly 20 years later, Samuel and his staff have entertained thousands of events throughout all 6 New England states, New York, New Jersey, Florida, Israel, and even China. Proud members of both the The American Disc Jockey Association, and the National Association of Mobile Entertainers, Samuel and his crew continue to learn and grow in an industry of constant change and technology advancement. Attending conferences like the International DJ Expo, DJ Idea Sharing Seminars, showcases, workshops, and seminars, keeps The Beantown Sound staff energized and excited, and in a constant state of advancement.
